Men’s Day Sunday Service

Bethel AME Moorestown invites the entire community to our annual Men’s Day Sunday Service. We are honored to welcome Bishop Samuel L. Green, Presiding Prelate of the 1st Episcopal District, as our guest preacher.

Our theme, “Each one bring one, and each one teach one,” calls on every man to reach beyond himself, bringing someone new through the door and sharing what he has learned along the way. Guided by Proverbs 16:9, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps,” the service celebrates faith, mentorship, and the men who strengthen our families and our town.

Visitors and first-time guests are welcome, and there is no need to be a member to attend. Dinner will be served after the service in our Fellowship Hall, and we hope you’ll stay and get to know us. To help us with the headcount, please RSVP for dinner by Tuesday, October 20, by emailing bethelamemoorestown@gmail.com.

If you are unable to join us in person, the service will be livestreamed on our YouTube channel.

With deep sorrow, the Bethel AME Church family announces the passing of our beloved Sis. Barbara Darrell.

A Memorial Service will be held here at Bethel on Wednesday, October 14, at 11:00 a.m.

Sis. Darrell was a long-time and faithful member of Bethel who gave generously of her time and her heart. Her presence will be deeply missed. We ask that you keep her family and loved ones in your prayers during this time.

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4)

Join us at Bethel AME Church on Saturday, October 24, for a community discussion on Blacks in South Jersey, featuring Samuel Still of the Dr. James Still Historic Office & Education Center.

The Still family has deep roots in this part of New Jersey. Dr. James Still, remembered as the “Black Doctor of the Pines,” taught himself medicine and built a healing practice in Medford. His brother, William Still, became a leading figure in the Underground Railroad. He helped people escape slavery and recorded their stories so they wouldn’t be lost.

This is a chance to learn about that history close to home and to bring your own questions to the conversation.
